As part of our Wildlife Crime & Conservation weekend we are delighted to offer the opportunity to view the magnificent spectacle of c. 70 Red Kites returning to roost in the forest in Avoca.
Belonging to the Hawk family, these birds with their angled wings, forked tail and reddish brown plumage are impressive birds with a wingspan of up to 2m. They were reintroduced to Ireland in 2007 after a 200 year absence.
Marc Ruddock of the Golden Eagle Trust will be there to talk about these amazing birds and their reintroduction and current status in Ireland.
A bus will be leaving from the Glenview Hotel at 5:15pm sharp on Saturday evening and returning to the hotel afterwards.
(You don't need to be attending the Conference in order to book to attend this event)
